Seema Khatun is a ame that echoes resilience, dedication and unbreakable spirit. Despite facing significant challenges she carved a path for herself and others proving that education and determination can reshape destinies.
Self-taught Mehendi artist and a skilled calligrapher, Seema’s creativity shines through her work. From designing posters and charts for events to teaching Mehendi art to other children at the Rag Dreams Weavers Association, her artistic touch is evident in every detail. But her contribution extends far beyond her talents. Seema is a mentor, a leader and a voice for those who often go unheard.
Her journey with the NGO began in January 2024 and within a short time, she emerged as a lead child, taking on key responsibilities in community outreach. She has connected over 15 children to education and essential support, working tirelessly to break barriers that prevent them from attending school. Semma actively engages with parents, collaborates with district officials and has even represented the NGO in meetings with the Superintendent of Police and the District Magistrate of Aligarh.
Balancing her responsibilities at home and the NGO, Seema’s determination never wavers. She once worked as a cook to support herself, but her passion for education led her to take a courage step, leaving that job to focus entirely on learning and helping others.
This Vidyakiran Appreciation Award is a testament to Seema’s story of perseverance and hope, inspiring many to believe that no obstacles is too great when met with courage. This award is in recognition of her unwavering commitment to education and empowerment.
